A dvLED submittal package is the set of documents a contractor files so the specifying authority can confirm that the product meets the design; the cut sheet is the product datasheet at the front of that package. In the US market the package is a formal step in the project, and a supplier who cannot produce the documents on time becomes a schedule risk regardless of the hardware.
This guide lists what a submittal typically contains, what belongs on a cut sheet, and what the manufacturer should be able to issue.
Submittal requirements vary by authority and by project size, but the core set is consistent across commercial, institutional and government work in the US.
The list below is the common minimum. A larger project may add structural calculations, seismic restraint details and power-loading schedules.
| Document | Purpose | Usually issued by |
|---|---|---|
| Cut sheet | Product data and specifications | Manufacturer |
| Dimensioned drawings | Cabinet layout, overall size, weight | Manufacturer / integrator |
| Structural details | Mounting, load paths, restraint | Integrator / engineer |
| Power schedule | Load, circuit and breaker sizing | Integrator |
| Certification file | CE, FCC, RoHS, UL/ETL where applicable | Manufacturer |
| Warranty statement | Coverage and terms | Manufacturer |
| Spare parts list | Modules, power supplies, receiving cards | Manufacturer |
The cut sheet is the document a reviewer reads first, so it has to answer the specification questions without the reader having to ask. A dvLED cut sheet that is missing the serviced pitch, the cabinet size or the brightness figure will come back for revision.
The following items should appear on every dvLED cut sheet we issue.
Pixel pitch and the pitches available in the series. Brightness in cd/m². Refresh rate. Contrast ratio. Cabinet dimensions and weight. Module dimensions and weight. Viewing angle. Power consumption, average and maximum, in watts per square metre. Supply voltage and maximum current. Ingress protection rating where the product is outdoor-rated. Operating temperature range. The certification marks the product carries. Warranty term.
Where a figure depends on configuration, the cut sheet should say so rather than quote a single number. A brightness figure without its drive setting is not usable in a specification review.
For US projects, the certification file usually matters more than any other part of the submittal, because it is what allows the installation to pass inspection.
Our products carry CE and RoHS compliance, with EMC documentation and UL/ETL listing capability for the US market, alongside UKCA and GS capability for European buyers. The factory operates an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
Ask for the certification file early. Buyers who request it only after the award sometimes discover that a chosen material lacks a required rating, which forces a redesign at the point when changes are most expensive.
A submittal is a schedule item, not paperwork that happens after the order. On a project with a fixed opening date, the review cycle sits between the order and the delivery, so a supplier who needs two weeks to produce a cut sheet pushes the whole programme.
We issue cut sheets and certification documents from the factory as standard, and production runs on a 15 to 20 working day lead time with a three-year warranty. Documentation requests should be placed with the order, not after it.
For this requirement our range covers it directly: the COB CV-PRO series the COB EF outdoor series.
